Blood serum was added to primary cell culture in different concentrations. You can see that even in very high concentration blood serum taken from healthy donors did not induce cholesterol accumulation in cultured cells. On the contrary, serum from atherosclerotic patients stimulated cholesterol accumulation. This effect was concentration-dependent.
