According to conventional classification of atherosclerosis, normal arterial wall is "0". Lesion type I is initial lesion which can be revealed only microscopically as accumulation of lipid droplets in arterial intima. Lesion type II is fatty streak - local lipid accumulation. One more lipid-rich lesion is lipofibrous plaque that has lipid core and fibrotic cap. This is lesion Va.
